The Tale of Wyatt Goodwin
Chapter one: The average raid of Conroy.
“What do you mean kill everybody on board?” Asked the eleven year old boy, Wyatt. “What do you think it means boy? It means murder all on that ship.” Replied the vilest, low-life pirate, Captain James R. Conroy. Conroy stared at the still English trade ship. Captain Conroy was a forty seven year old man whom had been in piracy all his life, much like his father, Roger Conroy. His ship named after Edward Teech’s (Blackbeard) famous Queen Ann’s Revenge, calling this one King Conroy’s Revenge, naming for his famous father. Conroy was as close to the devil you could get on the seas. Some say he has no soul, no feelings and no compassion, which by the way was accurate. Rumours of the land of Conroy spread like wild fire when he impacted the world forever by taking a charge against London, entering it with his men and killing the current military leader and threw his head into the streets. These rumours made him laugh and only boosted his ego.
Wyatt Goodwin had joined Conroy in hopes of making money for his family. Wyatt, however had no interest in Piracy as he was from England, which Conroy did not know. He wasn’t prepared to kill his own people but knew he must if he wished to earn the prize promised to him. This feature of Wyatt showed he was a natural in the pirate business. “All are ready to begin?” Yelled Conroy. The blood thirsty crew yelled “AYE!” in response.
The sound of the cannon ball blasting through the hull on the soon to be destroyed English ship was music to the Captain. The firing of the loud cannons broke the calm sounding waves of the sea as the ninth ship in a span of three weeks was attacked by the ship of myths, legend and only usually spoken of when wanting revenge on it, or people of the land arguing its very existence. Conroy’s cannons were causing the properly dressed, fake white haired pony tailed men to panic and began attempting to get the water out of their boat by using buckets, however, water kept leaking in as the holes in the ship increased dangerously. The filthy crew of Conroy yelled insults and offers to put them out of their misery. The ship moved closer and closer to the well-polished, straight wooded ship. Conroy’s plan was running as smooth as the sea. The crew swung their hooks to grab hold of the flag and flung themselves aboard. The people of the defending ship drew their swords but had no chance against the offence. They were pirates. The pirates and English people fought as the death count grew to both sides. Wyatt recognized a man named William Stringer and before the man could call him out Wyatt pushed him overboard. The crew eventually over powered the English and had their captain tied up at mercy point. Captain Conroy took hold of the man’s sword and cut his head clean off. “Clean up the mess and throw his remains over board.”
The loot from this ship was worth the cannonballs used to eliminate it. Inside was enough rum and food to last each crew member for weeks. Captain Conroy however, was selfish and took it all in for himself. The remains of the sunken ship disappeared in the distance as dusk began. “Another day done well” Laughed the well fed, drunken pirate as he hung the sword of the fallen captain.
