The Realms of Ectoria: A Minecraft™ Roleplaying Server
What is Ectoria?
Ectoria is the name of the world we live in. Made up of five continents each possessing their own unique attributes, Ectoria is a world unlike any other.
What are the Realms within Ectoria?
There are five Realms in the world of Ectoria, each originating on a specific continent. The Realm of Normalcy has made its presence known on the continent of Virund, home to the racial nucleus of Kenton. The Dominion of Kathar serves as the primary nation in this Realm. The Realm of Grandeur has sown its seeds on the continent of Kierne. A place of great wealth and stature, the people who make up the Realm have shown undying loyalty to the Empire of Akren and its emperor. The Realm of Vigor made its home on the continent of Zekvad close to the time of creation itself. A Realm of firm and hardy people, its primary loyalties lie with the Kingdom of Petrak and the Dwarf King. The Realm of Grace originated on the continent of Viothr before all else was formed. A Realm of silvan people, lithe and fair, the Kingdom of Maerr dominates all other allegiances. The Realm of Iniquity is one of vice and evil, taking residence on the darkened continent of Phaien. The Kingdom of Melasir controls all the Realm with brute force and an iron grip.
What are the Races of Ectoria?
There are five races in the world of Ectoria, each a part of a certain Realm. The Realms and their respective races are listed below.
The Realm of Normalcy
- The Humans: A race of mundane people, the humans are best at farming. Wheat has become their staple export, and their society relies greatly on commerce. The humans dwell in all topographical locations, be it flat plains or rolling hills. They are quick to anger and their lust for land has been the center of several wars.
The Realm of Grandeur
- The Ardanach: A race of high and noble humans, the Ardanach represent the epitome of perfection. They tend to live in snowy lands, and their wealth comes from the stockpiles of gold acquired over the ages. The Ardanach are often lofty and imperious in their nature, for they are indeed a race of Men worthy of praise.
The Realm of Vigor
- The Dwarves: A short and stocky race, the dwarves show their talent in boring deep holes through the mountains of Zekvad. The mining and accumulation of iron has proven to be their most successful commodity. The dwarves are known for their frequenting of taverns, and their strong will allows them to work through most any task.
The Realm of Grace
- The Elves: A race of silvan humanoids, these beings have great knowledge in the art of woodcutting; their homeland of Viothr has more than enough trees to suffice for their own needs. Tall and fair, the elves have the innate ability to communicate with nature. Not much is known to the people of Ectoria about their inner workings, for the elves keep a shroud of mystery draped over themselves and the exalted Kingdom of Maerr.
The Realm of Iniquity
- The Sekvar: A dark and dismal race, the Sekvar are not natural beings. Being a people with no definite shape, they take two forms: the first a veiled, wispy figure appearing as a cloaked traveler; the second a physical reflection of their deepest fears. Those unfortunate enough to encounter a Sekvar have rarely lived to tell the tale, for they lock their prey in a fearful gaze before swooping in for the kill.
